Hanging by a Thread

I know you know that running out of money when your paycheck is still days away is not fun but why do you run out of money when your paycheck is still days away time and time again?  I know you know that saving money for your future is important but why do you not save money for your future?  I know how much you hate your 9-5 prison cubicle (also known as office), day in and day out but why do you still go to your 9-5 prison cubicle, day in and day out?  Knowing is different from doing.  Maybe you just need a little motivation or see things in a different light to help you change things for the better.

If you are happy, go for it.  If not, change it.

Seeing Things in a New Light

Let me share with you some of my thoughts on how I motivate myself to take action to help improve my finances.  I think the reason why many people do not save money although they know its importance is they choose not to see the long haul.  They choose instant gratification over going through a little discomfort now to reap the fruits of their labor tomorrow.  They fail to see what is truly important to them and get sidetracked by little pleasures  now that do not help them achieve their bigger goals.  You can choose to see saving not as depriving yourself but giving yourself the  best opportunity to someday enjoy the fruits of your labor to the fullest.  You can choose to see every money you save as your payment in buying your freedom.  On the day you accumulated enough money, that will be the day when you will be released from your 9-5 prison cubicle.

Dealing with It

An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure but what are you to do when the situation of not having enough money before your next paycheck is already there staring at you.  Quick thinking is essential and these are the impromptu solutions that cross my mind:

  1. Do some serious Yoga and meditation.  It is time to lay down the yoga mat, play that enchanting and relaxing chant, stretch those muscles and joints and position your body into incomprehensible shapes.  Yoga and meditation calms and revitalizes your body and mind and with the wave of energy and tranquility engulfing the inner depths of your being, comes clarity of thought and memory.  You will be able to remember all those who owe you money.  Start demanding payment.
  2. Take comfort in your friends.  Borrow money from your friends.  Borrowed money from friends is better than borrowing from banks or loan companies because it is interest-free.  Be sure to pay your friends back.  You don’t want to lose their friendship over some money.
  3. Sell your junk.  Your junk may be another man’s treasure.  You earn money and at the same time reduce clutter.
  4. Showcase you hidden talents.  You may not realize it yet but all of us, in the deepest, darkest part of our persona lies our hidden talents.  They are hidden for a good reason but I encourage you to showcase them.  If you can eat a live chicken, walk on wire, eat fire and barbwire – that is awesome.  Those talents will earn you tons of cash in the hottest freak show near you.  Go for it.
  5. Collect snake venom.  Just do not do this unless you are ready to face a painful death.

If all else fails to raise money when there is not enough at the end of the month, there is the Rafflecopter below to save the day. Go!
